In conversation with Aarti Chabria to improve your daily life with mindfulness.

We all often have negative recurring thoughts and feelings in our lives. We are giving those thoughts, negative ones especially more attention than any others. How to train your brain to think positive?
The first theory that people should understand is, what you pull your attention to – what you “magnify” by repeatedly thinking/talking about is what you “magnetize”!
So instead of constantly thinking of what you don’t want, pull your attention to what you want and keep giving it fuel by writing/talking/thinking about only that. Your subconscious is listening to you all the time and what you tell it – it will follow. So consciously choose what you want to filter into and keep out of your subconscious.
Our mind is constantly bringing to our attention information and stimuli that affirms our preexisting beliefs that which we’ve done in the past. Are there ways to start training our Subconscious mind to get what we want?
To detox your mind of past limiting beliefs, the best route is forgiveness and blessings. If you can forgive people, situations, even yourself for whatever compelled you to adopt a particular belief – then that’s a clear detox.
Affirmations on forgiveness have the power to clean out any negative patterns that people might be experiencing – whether in relationships or career or health. Now to change this wrong programming, you need to rewire your brain to detox from old limiting beliefs. Now all you have to do is “abundance affirmations” if you want to manifest wealth or “relationship affirmations” if you want to create the relationship of your dreams.
Affirmations are positive statements you use for yourself, thanking the universe for the things you want, even before they exist, and make the statements in present continuous tense like so, “I am so blessed and grateful that I am abundantly wealthy and joyous”
Use the tools from my positive talk series on YouTube called the “AARTAO SERIES” where I share tools to reprogram your mind to manifest the life of your dreams.
“Accept that the past is unique of
itself and not a trailer for the future.”
We all experience the occasional lack of confidence. We talk ourselves into believing that we’re not good enough. Is there any positive drive which can change in our career, and in our life in general?
Comparison brings in the feeling of jealousy. So the first thing to rule out is trying to be somebody that you’re not. Comparison is the worst toxicity.
Working out or playing a sport is a great way to kill two birds with one stone. One it will keep you feeling fit and healthy and the real reason I suggest working out is that when you work out, your body releases chemicals called endorphins which trigger a positive feeling in your body, and an energising outlook on life.
The Morning Mirror exercise
Look into the mirror and smile at yourself looking deep into your own eyes, telling yourself “I love you! You are the best! You are capable of anything you put your mind to. Sky’s the limit for you. Thank you mind, Thank you body, thank you every part of every part, for functioning at your optimum, I bless you”
These simple statements said to self can make a world of a positive difference. Try it!

How do you take care of yourself every day so that you stay balanced and centered?
Pranayama every morning and Hanuman Chalisa or any chanting that you resonate with, at sunset.
Meditation of any kind – transcendental meditation is what I personally practice and that’s another way to help feel balanced and see everything go in your favor naturally.
You were the winner of the “Khatron Ke Khiladi” 2011, how did you prepare yourself for the task? What is your specific workout regimen and how often do you exercise?
I trained mentally and physically before I entered the reality show. I went through techniques to keep my mind strong so that no matter what I wouldn’t give up. The biggest and the best tool from them all was the tool of visualization.
I used to be a regular at the gym but now I have switched to yoga thrice a week and daily pranayama. That keeps me feeling happy and fit.
“We are infinite beings, and we are what we believe. We are what we think we deserve.”
Recycling is good for the environment since we are making new products from old products. Recycling begins at home! Where can we begin to keep the environment green?
I would say, home waste from veggies and fruits as composting is a great way to recycle. By using food scraps you can create quality nutrients for your indoor garden and enjoy homegrown fresh veggies/herbs and even flowers.
Buy products with less packaging as much as possible, use paper bags or other recyclable products and reduce plastic usage.
“It’s our responsibility as humans beings on earth to take care
of our environment, as much as we take care of our own bodies.”
We would very much like to know your perspective on eco-friendliness?
Whether it is using non-plastic bags, or using low VOC
(volatile organic compound) paints on our walls, using solar-paneled roofs, it’s about knowing we are connected to our surroundings and our everyday decisions cumulate to a drastic consequence. Consciously choose to reduce your carbon footprint, choose greener transportation, walk more, cycle more, carpool and be more social.
