Did you know? Stripes are used as a natural camouflage by the animals. So did the military engineers develop this technique to create illusions and distract the opponents. What if this same technique could be used to enhance your positives and accentuate your femininity and shapeliness? It is not rocket science anymore! With the use of technology in the right way, Simone Simon is here to razzmatazz you with its first “Razzle /Dazzle” collection.
“Fashion is architecture: it’s a matter of proportion” says Cecile Thieulin the founder of Simone Simon. Being an architect I use my technical background to optimize the apparel fabrication process from creation, to prototyping, to manufacturing.
Using sustainable materials and local partners is the first thing we do. We want fashion to adapt to women and not women to adapt to fashion. So our first collection celebrates the timeless pattern of black and white stripes, and is designed to honor shapeliness and femininity.
« Elegance » and «comfort » are often mutually exclusive in the women’s apparel market. Our brand is made to be chic but comfortable, easy from day to night for all the women in this fast paced world.
“We use technologies to make
custom designs and produce it with
less waste as much as we use
sustainable fabric and local makers”
Elements in the creation of a fashion piece
Simone Simon is a brand that brings on elegance and comfort with sustainability and quality. Our first step in Simone Simon has been to use a 3D CAD software to design our garments and prepare our first virtual prototype before cutting any fabric. Our mission is to show how fashion can be environmentally responsible and at the same time elegant, timeless and unique to honour women.
Garment with a special story.
Architecture has always been a driving force behind every discovery. It is the guiding thread in my creativity. Our first collection “Razzle/Dazzle” was inspired by Stereotomy (the art and science of cutting-stone characterized by the correspondence between form and structure) and by a camouflage technique invented by military engineers called RazzleDazzle.
I used the same visual techniques, only this time to sublime the woman’s silhouette. Dressed in Razzle Dazzle, shapes are erased, camouflaged, only to appear at their best, strongest and sexiest as the design emphasizes waist, shoulders, bottom and bust in perfect harmony!
Styling tips for readers.
Our lines so far are very graphic, and use few colours. The balance between the black and white is an extremely strong highlighter: this combination is flattering for every skin colour, and easy to match and mix.
