Thus began my journey with baby skincare products, when I was pregnant with my first son in 1993. Disappointed with the non-availability of quality ‘natural’ baby skincare products and armed with my passion for fresh and organic products, I started developing a range of quality baby skincare products.
One year later in 1994, AROMABABY® was launched across Australia.
We run workshops on natural skincare, ingredients and baby massage in Hong Kong, Singapore and China, sharing information to empower both mothers and midwives.
How is AROMABABY® different from other organic products?
In order for the product to makes its way into AROMABABY® products, they need to be “ORGANIC CERTIFIED”. No compromise on this.
Our skin care product formulations are free from sulphates, propylene glycol, mineral oil and other petrochemical by products, artificial fragrances, synthetic colors, parabens, which are often found in mass-produced skincare and have been potentially linked to skin irritation and other health concerns.
AROMABABY® uses certified organic active ingredients like calendula, evening primrose oil and natural vitamin E.
Even natural and organic ingredients like lemon, tea tree, peppermint oils etc., can irritate a baby’s skin. That is why we always recommend NO essential oils and only water in the early weeks.
How to choose Organic skincare products?
- Look for certification labels and inspect the ingredients list.
The ingredients should be listed incorrect descending order, according to volume, with water and base oils generally at the top and essential oils (even preservatives if used) at the bottom.
- Fragrances: Look for products that use essential oils.
My top tips for purchasing organic and natural skincare products:
- Understand the basic skincare ingredients so that you can quickly identify what you don’t want to compromise
- Set budget.
- Research on shortlisted manufacturers of the products.
- Don’t ask why Organic is more expensive, think why others are cheap.
