Stay strong stay “negative”
As they say, when the going gets tough, the tough get going and in these times when each day, if not every hour, brings fresh news about the coronavirus crisis, staying strong and optimistic is paramount. This quarantine has turned the entire world upside down for the most of us or at least it seems so, thus trying to see the silver lining behind all these – is our only choice, or we’d drive ourselves crazy. We are living in unimaginable times, juggling with homework and office tasks, we’re pulling through though it seems like a long way to go– despite being on lockdown, new cases continue to appear each day.
My only hope is that you’re doing your part as a responsible citizen and it’s mandatory to come together to fight with the pandemic by staying thoughtful of others – self-quarantine, being honest about the medical facts. This pandemic has introduced us to two different sets of people- ones who dared to flourish in chaotic, unpredictable times and welcomed uncertainty without fear and second the misfits, the contrarians, and the anti-heroes. This new-look May issue of lifestyle food magazine is dedicated to the first set.
We’ve made a bolder, braver magazine to celebrate them and give these important new voices a platform to share about themselves and their causes. I am incredibly proud of what my team has created and curated on the pages that follow-from our insightful interview with Miss Earth Nguyễn Phương Khánh of Vietnam to a motivational session with Mr. Dirk Coetsee, every piece has shone the spotlight on inspiring people who I hope will provoke stimulating thoughts.
We are aware that work from home culture and locked down gyms are contributing in weight-gain and this is emerging as a collateral pandemic. But with a little motivation, you can shed those extra pounds and we have included innovative diet plans and creative workouts to help you out with this.
And I arduously believe that quarantine has endowed us with an interesting opportunity to turn creative, read more, learn more and revive our bonds with all the forgotten near and dear ones.
