Believe In Pink – The Power Of Being Women
International Women’s day is around the corner and In its honor let us celebrate all of the strong, powerful and beautiful women out in the world and in our very own lives — and not just today, but every day too. Here’s to the women of the past, the present and the future, and all of the women breaking barriers and paving ways for the next generation of confident, independent women.
Every year, we endeavor to list 10 top women leaders and entrepreneurs who have carved out a niche for themselves on the global platform. These are the women representing some of the most important industries; women who have made an impact everywhere: business, philanthropy, media, and law—a challenging and inspirational initiative. We followed tradition this year too, adding some extraordinary women to our growing list. Their reflections represent a collection of inspirational advice on sustainable living for future women leaders.
Talking of the future leaders, we’re glad to have one on our cover page. Our cover page is bejeweled by– Suman Rao, Miss India 2019 who was crowned as second runner-up for Miss World 2019. We at Lifestlefood magazine also believe in women empowerment and gender equality. As Suman tells us, she wanted to be the voice of gender equality in her community and try acting. Suman wants to create awareness among them because freedom is about equal opportunity.
We’re really hopeful about the new generation leaders taking initiatives to build a sustainable future but there are many things to keep in mind before we leap ahead. In this Lifestyle Food anniversary issue, we tackle a few essential sustainable industry issues. And also how to be a great listener in our essence section. How to be great listeners and forge real bonds with people? Well, we need to listen with the intent of learning and not just replying is the mantra! Find out more about this in this issue.
Of course, giving back these days is also good business whether it’s a sustainable resort, slow fashion or healthy lifestyle! Perhaps that’s the reason, ecotourism has emerged as the new era tourism for guilt-free pleasure. We have scoured for some gems in Sri Lanka for you. We hope it opens new perspectives to ecotourism for you and inspires you to take more such journeys!
Even the fashion industry is looking beyond “trends and seasons” and eco-conscious entrepreneurs are changing the fashion arena by working closely with native and folk weavers and artisans. These garments are manufactured for years and not just seasons. Fashion in Sweden is as interesting and as fashionable as it can get, along with being sustainable of course! Do not forget to read our fashion perspective in Sweden in the In-Style section.
This year on Women’s Day this year, my awesome team and I are celebrating powerhouse women who campaign for women’s rights and gender equality with their own (big) little wins. Women whose achievements clap back for a more inclusive, gender-equal world, where young girls don’t have to fear to step outside the safe confines of their homes, and can freely unleash their varied potentials on the world.
Go forth boldly and be your own little revolution, ladies. With thanks to our loyal readers and friends for your inspiration over the years, we at
Lifestyleforfood wish you a joyful, peaceful and Sustainable day!
